One Day Hike San Pedrillo Station

"Corcovado by boat"

   This tour starts in Sierpe of Osa at 8:00 a.m. We take the boat heading towards the mouth of the Sierpe River. This Ramsar site is the largest mangrove area in Central America. Moreover, this huge protected area is the habitat for a large amount of species, especially for aquatic ones. Many of them will show up while we navigate. The list might include crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, and aquatic birds which are frequently sighted a long the mangrove. Once we pass the mouth of the river, we will continue navigating on the ocean towards Corcovado National Park. The park hosts a large number of species including 600 species of insects, 375 species of birds, 6 of wild cats, 67 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 4 different species of monkeys. In consequence, the park serves as refuge for all these species, of which most are in danger of extinction..

     After the breathtaking journey on boat, we arrive in San Pedrillo beach. The guide will take us through the trails within the rain forest where we witness the jungle in all its splendor. This park has been ranked as the most biologically intense place on earth by the National Geographic. The naturalist guide will help you discover the well-camouflaged species in the forest and talk about the secrets this unique place hides. 


     This tour is perfect for nature lovers, groups of students, or other visitors who do not have enough time to stay in Sirena Station. Once we walk these amazing trails, we have a picnic lunch at the station. We depart again to Sierpe at 2:30 p.m. full of satisfaction and love to from our experience in the park.

How much time in advance should I book the tour?

As soon as you are certain you will take the tour. Many visitors visit the park, specially during high season so you may not find the park ticket to enter.

How to arrive in Sierpe

Driving a rental car

Arriving in Sierpe de Osa  is very simple. From Palmar Norte, cross the big bridge and turn right just at the first entrance. From there, drive all the way to the central park of Sierpe. We will let you know the meeting point for your tour at the moment of the reservation, so keep it in mind. 



You can take a taxi either in Palmar Norte or at the local airport. You may also hire this service through us and we will arrange it so a driver picks you up at the specific location you provide us.
