Cerro Pelón Hike

Overnight hiking tour

Cerro Pelón is located in Pérez Zeledón, in the province of San José. This unique place has stunning natural gardens in a series along the path. It is a peaceful and relaxing hike in which  you will find lots of exotic plants and great diversity of birds and other animals including monkeys. Once at the summit, you will witness an outstanding view of the “Valle de El General” and the Pacific coastline (if weather allows it) perfect for those who love hiking, just like us. On the other hand, the place is good for taking nice and colorful pictures of the forest and landscapes at the summit. This is a perfect tour to complement your visit to Chirripó National Park or for visitors who missed the chance to visit the park.

Considering the distance from Los Higuerones property (from where we enter the place), this is a basic level hike, and we strongly suggest taking the two-day tour so you can get the best of this place. On-day tour option is also available for those travelers who have just a little time to visit Pérez Zeledón. This tour is recommended for starters in hiking as it is a 4 km in total with very little change in altitude from the starting point.
