Cataratas Kilo One-day Hike
“San Jerónimo, Pérez Zeledón”
Taking the Catatas Kilo “Kilo Waterfalls” hike is an enchanting experience you will just love. This peaceful place is located in San Jerónimo de San Pedro, a wonderful place for hiking aventures. The tour departs from downtown San Isidro (Pérez Zeledón), from where we will travel for around 1 hour and 20 minutes. After that, we will have outstanding views of the mountains and forests in the area. Moreover, our journey will go through astonishing paths inmerse in dense primary forests with gigantic trees. Meanwhile, we can delight ourselves with a series of waterfalls of different sizes. Finally, during this hike we will be hiking upwards until reaching a lookout. From here, several of the visited falls can be seen from the distance.
This hike to Cataratas Kilo is suggested only for intermediate hikers used to climbing up similar distances with similar elevation gain. Additionally, the total hiking expedition consists of around 11 km. Therefore, good physical shape is required and lots of passion for hiking activities. Consequently, consider hiking a similar distance a week previous the tour so your body can assimilate the challenge. The difficulty level for this hike is considered as challenging.
6:00 a.m. Departure from downtown San Isidro
7:20 a.m. Arrival in San Jerónimo and start of the hike
7:40 a.m. Arrival at reception. We will take breakfast here.
8:40 a.m. Continue the hike
12:00 m.d. Arrival at the lookout
1:00 p.m. Lunch at the reception area
3:00 p.m. Start the hike down
3:30 p.m. Transport back to San Isidro
4:50 p.m. Arrival in downtown San Isidro

How much time in advance should I book the tour?
The tour is not operated every single day, so it is better to make your inquiry at least 3 days before and we will confirm availability.
Is the guiding service shared or do I and my group have our own guide?
Guiding service is provided for the group. However, if you want to have a private guide, we will make the arrangements.

Cataratas Kilo is located in the community of San Jerónimo of San Pedro. However, this tour is offered with transportation so you will just need to get to downtown San Isidro in Pérez Zeledón where we will pick you up and drop you off at the end of the tour. In case you spend the night at a hotel in or near downtown, let us know and we can arrange the pick up right there.
